Enrol here for workplace hazard course...

The HSE announced today (03 November 2006) the new workplace hazard awareness course and qualifications for young people. According to the the Chief Executive of HSE it is a "great example of how HSE, government and industry can work together to ensure that tomorrow's workforce has a sound basis for understanding the hazards that confront us every day at work."

Would it teach how to avoid doing too much work, the evils of computers and how not to injure oneself while making coffee?! Is there really a need for such a course? Amid the reports of falling number of students learning foreign languages, science and maths, the Government should concentrate its efforts on increasing the popularity of these subjects instead of inventing workplace hazard courses and qualifications.
